The new-purpose built PCYC facility at 1B Short Street, Cessnock boasts Indoor rock climbing, gymnastics, junior and senior boxing, sports aerobics, Box Fit, martial arts, soccer and a whole lot more.
These school holidays the successful All-Day Multisports Program is running 9am to 4pm, Monday to Friday, suitable for children aged 5 to 12 years.
“This structured program utilises a range of activities, including indoor sports, skate park, gymnastics, trampoline, movie time and craft, adventure play and rock climbing,” Cessnock PCYC manager Paul Ashton said. “Kids are guaranteed a full, fun day of activity. Cost is $35 per day and includes lunch.”
In addition to this, other programs are on offer. Learn The Basics Of Rockclimbing focuses on the basics of fundamental climbing under the supervision of qualified coaches and runs Tuesdays and Thursdays 1pm-4pm (2 sessions).
School Holiday Tumbling Clinics run July 6 and 13 from 2pm to 4pm. Kids must be able to perform a cartwheel. Cost is $40 for 2 days.
PCYC’s Teen Gym Program, suitable for ages 13-19, runs Friday 2pm to 3pm, and is suitable for all levels. Cost is $12 per class.
Come And Try Gymnastics, Mondays 1pm to 2pm, is designed for beginners.
Free G (Parkour style), for the more adventurous types, is on Mondays 2pm-3.30pm and Fridays 1pm-2pm.
Jungle Gym (various ages) runs Wednesdays 2pm-4pm.
On top of that, the Indoor Skate Park will operate 9am to 4pm daily. Cost for 2-hour sessions is $6 (under 18) and $11 (18+).
Bookings not essential.
“We’re all about empowering kids,” Paul said.
“Activities like this develop skills and confidence in a safe and supportive environment. Kids learn how to relate to other kids, coaches and adults. We welcome anyone interested to come along.”
