Our goal is to approach each of our patients holistically, preferring to not just treat the problem but to address health as a whole, ensuring we check all aspects of the body, including things like blood pressure, cholesterol, breast screening when relevant and so on.
We want to make a positive contribution to the health and well being of the community here, says Dr Baktash.
Since purchasing the site for the practice in December 2016 significant development has been made to the premises in order to ensure complete patient comfort. The clinic offers a large waiting room, 6 consultation rooms, a 3 bed treatment, room, a procedure room and a dedicated Allied Health room.
The practice will be offering family medical services, chronic disease management, services to people living with disabilities and support with NDIS, medical and nursing services to the residents of local aged care facilities as well as services across womens health, immunisation, drug and alcohol screening and minor surgical procedures and pre and post natal care.
With a comprehensive and culturally sensitive care program, members of the local Indigenous community are well looked after at the centre.
Dr Baktash said the team at West Cessnock Medical Practice understand that patients want continuity of care with doctors and nurses they know and trust and who also know them. Our experienced, local, caring nursing and midwifery team will provide the highest quality services into the future.
We want to provide complete care for patients and enable them to have the choice to stay with the same practitioner throughout their time with us as a patient, so that we can provide consistency of care he added.
Allied Health Services will also be available at the medical practice with a dietitian and exercise physiologist both available for consultation.
The West Cessnock Medical Practice is centrally located, has ample parking, on public transport route (on Wollombi Rd) and disability access for patients convenience and is in close proximity to the West End Pharmacy.
New patients are welcome and services will be bulk billed for those eligible.
Opening hours are Monday to Friday 9am -5pm closed on weekends and public holidays.
An after hours service is also available via the dial a home doctor service, enabling patients to access a doctor at home with a full report sent to their GP.
