According to snow chasers in the area, the flakes started falling before 10am on Wednesday. Debbie and Baelue Startin got out of bed at 3am to make the dash to Barrington. They had hoped the forecast for snow would land them in a winter wonderland and their dreams came to fruition. The light dusting was not expected to hang around for long, making way for windy conditions on Thursday.

In June Barrington had its first snowfall of the year thanks to some very wet weather. 

The Bureau of Meteorology has forecast sun and temperatures between 5 and 13 degrees for the remainder of the week.
