Following a recent restructure, club manager Greg Manning is looking to make “The Exies” great again by broadening the clubs appeal across all demographics utilising the club’s fantastic facilities.
“It’s one of the great social focal points of Cessnock and we’re looking to build on that reputation with a new focus on customer service,” Greg said.
“The Exies is running a nightclub Friday and Saturday nights for the adults.
“We’re looking at running feature acts like The Pink Show and Fabba down the track.
“Make a note in your diary for November 5 when The Country Superstars Tribute Show hits town.”
Patrons can discover their voice in the sports bar each month with the ever-popular Karioke night, which coincidentally runs tomorrow night (August 10).
Be sure you get there early for the massive members draw which must be won and will return some lucky patron a cool $1000.
The Exies boasts fantastic TAB facilities and runs regular darts, indoor bowls, bingo and pool competitions.
Drinks come at club prices and the bistro is open daily for lunch and dinner.
“We want to make people welcome and really mix it up in terms of what’s on offer,” Greg said.
“For example, following the Country Superstars Show in November we’re going to hold a military memorabilia display on November 10,11 and 12 featuring a articles from noted local military man Greg Ingles, who also happens to work at the club.
“After that we’ll be organising movie nights for the kids.”
The Exies has a number of separate entertainment areas perfect for live shows and available for hire for private functions.
An outside area with comfortable seating is the perfect location for duos and informal gigs, and has a kiddies area perfect for the little ones while mum and dad kick back.
A professional auditorium can hold 250 people, with full catering and a professional kitchen available.
“It’s perfect for functions like weddings, seminars, 21sts etc,” Greg said. “We hold all our big music shows there, movie nights and so on.
“The Exies truly has something for everyone and we’re encouraging people to come and rediscover what we have on offer.”
The clubs new trading hours are 9.30am to 10pm Monday, Tuesday and Sunday; 9.30am to 11pm Wednesday; 9.30am to midnight Thursday; and 9.30am to 3am Friday and Saturday.
