Marks recorded a personal best break of 137 at the NSW Disabilities Tenpin Bowling Championships and in the wake of the event was named in the NSW squad for the 2018 Special Olympics Australia National Games in Adelaide in April.
It will be a huge month for Marks as she will also compete at the National Disabilities Tenpin Bowling Championships also in Adelaide.
“I had no idea about my selection until they called my sister,” Marks said.
“It is the first time I have been selected for the Special Olympics. It is very exciting and a great honour.”
Marks, who has won the past two Cessnock City Sportsperson of the Year senior athlete with a disability awards, said she was happy with her results at the state titles.
“To get that break of 137 was great. It’s my best score ever,” Marks said. “Hopefully I can get gold and get an even bigger break in Adelaide.”
