The Country Women’s Association Cessnock Evening Branch and local community college Wild Learning have teamed up to host a ‘Crafternoon Tea’ on Thursday, September 28.
The event is part of the branch’s CWA Awareness Week activities and combines three of their favourite things: craft, cake and community.
Wild Learning creative facilitator Emmie Hallett (who is also a member of the CWA) said the idea of the event is to “open up spaces and create things for families to do in the school holidays”.
“It will give kids a chance to see the CWA rooms – it should feel quite special,” she said.
Participants will create a spring-themed display that will be hung in the window of the CWA rooms. A delicious afternoon tea will follow the craft activity.
Children aged four to 15 are welcome to attend and must be accompanied by an adult.
Entry is by gold coin donation and attendees are encouraged to bring along a piece of fruit that will be donated to people in need.
The event will start at 1pm at the CWA rooms (161 Vincent Street, Cessnock). Call Emmie on 0412 835 865 to book your place.
