The NSW Government has provided $2 million this financial year to build a roundabout to improve safety at the intersection.
Roads and Maritime Services will carry out utility relocation work to prepare for the upcoming intersection upgrade, which is expected to start in early 2018.
Work to relocate water mains will start on Thursday and will be carried out between 7am and 5pm during the week for four weeks, weather permitting.
Temporary lane closures will be in place during work hours and motorists should follow the direction of traffic control and signs.
