Police targeting unregistered motorbike riders

At 8pm on Saturday night, police detected a 34-year-old man riding a Honda motorbike in Second Street, Weston that allegedly had the rear tyre off the rim and caused metal sparking on the road.
When the rider was stopped he was found to be unlicensed to ride a motorbike; that the motorbike was allegedly unregistered and uninsured, and the man was allegedly riding with the special range of alcohol in his blood. He will be attending Cessnock Court.
Trees stolen
During Thursday evening unknown thieves dug up and stole three bottlebrush trees from the front of a Hermitage Road, Pokolbin property.
As not many people garden at night, police are hoping someone may remember the suspicious activity.

Drink-driving while talking on phone
Police allege a 46-year-old female driver was observed driving in Cooper Street, Cessnock while using a mobile phone at 8.25pm on Thursday evening.
Police did a U-turn and stopped the driver, but not before she was allegedly seen to drive onto the wrong side of the road, cutting off traffic and going through a roundabout on the incorrect side.
When the driver was stopped she was submitted to a breath test, which she failed.
She was then arrested and conveyed to Cessnock Police Station where it was found she was driving with the low range of alcohol in her blood. She too will be attending Cessnock Court.
Drug possession
Late on Thursday evening, police were called to a fast food restaurant in Cessnock regarding a male acting suspiciously.
When police arrived, it is alleged a 39-year-old male was found to be in possession of a small quantity of the illegal drugs cannabis and methylamphetamine (commonly known as ice).
It is further alleged that the vehicle the man was driving was unregistered and uninsured. This man will be appearing at Cessnock Court.
Arrest for theft of drone and mobile phone
Police have taken action against a 33-year-old Cessnock resident for theft after she allegedly stole a remote control drone and a mobile phone from a Cessnock supermarket on Monday.
This woman will be attending Cessnock Court.
