Now known as Cessnock Plaza News & Gifts, the proudly family owned and operated business has taken up residence in Cessnock Plaza, hence the new name.
“Even though we have moved we still offer the same great products and pride ourselves on our exceptional customer service,” manager Sarah Pascoe said.
“With our new location we can cater for more customers with new and improved facilities, including a second Lotto terminal.
“Some of our regular customers have mobility issues so being in a new position with easy access and extra parking makes us more accessible and gives our customers more independence for their shopping.
“We now trade through two entrances, front and back, so our early morning walkers don’t miss out on their paper.
The new shop opened on Monday, September 18 and although the name and address might have changed, the same wide range of products and quality customer service remains.
Cessnock Plaza News & Gifts has all the products you would expect, plus more including newspapers, cards, giftware, wrap and ribbon, stationery, Lotto, Opal cards, phone credit, fishing licences, educational charts, confectionery and drinks.
“With the new air-conditioned location we are able to incorporate more into our already great range,” Sarah said.
“Being in a temperature-controlled store now, we can have things like candles and chocolates.”
In relocating to Cessnock Plaza the newsagency completes a convenient shopping hub at Keene Street which includes a pharmacy, supermarket, bank and coffee shop.
“We’re really thankful for people supporting the move,” Sarah said.
“Everyone keeps saying, ‘Wow, this is amazing.’ “
Sarah’s mother and father, Marina and Ryan Wilson, have owned the newsagency since 2009 and are proud members of the local business community.
“Being a local family-owned business who have been in the industry for nine years this October, we appreciate the support of shopping local,” Sarah said.
“We love that our regular customers have given the new shop a chance and are loving the changes as much as us.”
