After five years as senior pastors at Cessnock’s Hope Valley Church, the Mains have announced the church will now be known as Beyond Church.
Beyond Church aims to grow churches, raise leaders and inspiring communities – with “connect, include, grow, lead and create” its five core values.
The church opened in 1986, first known as Cessnock Christian Family Centre.
The Mains have been senior pastors since February 2013 and have helped the church grow with the opening of the Front Room community space on Vincent Street, and programs such as the Creative Academy, kids’ group and youth group..
Following the church’s 30th anniversary last year, the Mains decided it was time for a name that reflected the church’s future direction.
“Five years along, and understanding who we are and the strengths within our community, we are in a position to express more confidently our vision,” Rachel said.
“The new name much more clearly defines our future and where we are going,” Luke added.
