The success of the application will involve Destination NSW matching the pledges dollar-for-dollar to execute a major destination marketing program worth $600,000.
The objective of the campaign is to increase overnight visitation to Hunter Valley Wine Country and grow tourism in our area. Wine Country has not had a major campaign in market for over five years.
We are now waiting to hear back from Destination NSW on their assessment and review of the EOI.
The Alliance will then begin to negotiate on the strategic approach on the development of the marketing program we hope to execute in mid-2018.
You can still pledge – if you would like to pledge further funds, or know of another business owner who may wish to pledge, there is still time and this additional funding would still attract dollar-for-dollar funding from Destination NSW. Wine export grants now open
There are three grant programs within the Australian Government’s $50 million Export and Regional Wine Support Package which are now open for applications.
One of these programs now open is the Wine Export Grants, which are designed to support small-to-medium wine exporters in capturing export opportunities in China and the USA, by offering reimbursement grants for specific export promotion activities from January 2018.
Small and medium wine businesses can claim a reimbursement grant of up to AU$25,000 for 50 percent of eligible export promotion expenses incurred on or after January 1, 2018, plus an allowance of AU$350 per day for all on ground and incidental costs, capped at 14 days.
The allowance forms part of the maximum grant amount of AU$25,000. Applicants cannot claim the GST component of any incurred expenses.
The grant program is capped at $1 million, with funding accessed on a first-come, first-served basis.
We encourage all wine exporters within Wine Country to take advantage of Wine Australia’s Wine Export Grants. Please contact the HVWTA or visit wineaustralia.com for more information.
