Police are investigating the death of a woman after her body was found in a house in Branxton on Thursday morning.
Police from Hunter Valley Local Area Command (LAC) were called to a home in Dalwood Road about 11.30am (Thursday 10 October), concerned for the welfare of a man and woman living in the house.
Police arrived to find a woman, believed to be aged 28, deceased, and a man, believed to be aged in his 70s, seriously ill.
The man was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance Paramedics for dehydration before being taken to Maitland Hospital in a serious condition.
Police have been advised it’s likely the man will be transferred to the Mater Hospital.
Police are yet to formally interview the man; detectives hope once they speak with him they will have a clearer idea of the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death.
