Young crossed for a double, and Musgrove and Jones (the captain) scored once in the 34-4 victory over the Penrith Panthers in the grand final at Leichhardt Oval on Saturday.
The Knights, who were also minor premiers, skipped out to a 24-0 advantage at half-time, and added a further two tries to their tally in the second half with Jones scoring the seventh and final of the afternoon.
The Knights last won the Harold Matthews competition in 2000 while their breakthrough victory came in 1992.
This year’s champions will have a shot at a national title with the Knights to tackle successful Queensland under-16 outfit the Northern Pride in Townsville on Saturday.
