The Mad Hatter made a secret visit to Cessnock last week to meet with Stomp Festival organisers and negotiate the terms for bringing his party to town.
After tasting the Fabulous Cheshire Tea menu from Exquisite Cakes by Lennert the Mad Hatter gave Cessnock his stamp – or should that be ‘stomp’ – of approval.
“I do declare this is a most delightful city full of delicious baked treats and enough space to futterwacken until dawn, or at least until my sugar high wears off,” Mr Hatter said.
“Although I have my suspicions that some of the people around here are quite mad, they have assured me there are no Jabberwocks hiding in the vineyards and on that basis I confirm I will be here on Sunday, April 17 to celebrate the Cessnock Stomp Festival.”
Cessnock Chamber of Commerce president Geoff Walker said he was pleased the Mad Hatter had agreed to attend the festival.
“High Tea with the Mad Hatter promises to bring a new level of fun and excitement to what is already shaping up to be a fantastic event in the heart of Cessnock,” Mr Walker said.
“We’re looking forward to seeing the CBD come alive in celebration of everything that makes our region great – from the wonderful people and businesses to the world-class food and wine we produce.”
Spaces at the High Tea with the Mad Hatter are limited. There are two menus to choose from and tickets are on sale now from $20 per person.
