Barry’s Quality Meats owner David Masters has thanked the police and the community for their support following the robbery at his store last week.
Mr Masters was confronted by two men in the store on Maitland Road, Cessnock at about 4.45am on Friday, April 1.
Both men had their faces covered. One of the men took cash from a register then both offenders fled the scene on foot.
Mr Masters was not injured but said he was “pretty shook up” by the incident.
“It happened so bloody quickly,” he said.
Mr Masters said he appreciated the support he has received from the community and police in the days since the incident.
“The police don’t get the credit they deserve,” he said.
Central Hunter Detectives would like to speak to two men who they believe may be able to assist with their inquiries.
The first man is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 173cm tall, with a thin build and short hair. He was wearing a beanie.
The second man is also described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 188cm tall, with a solid build and short hair. He was wearing a blue chequered flannelette shirt, shorts and joggers.
