The Tocal Field Days will return this year from April 29 to May 1, after last year’s event was cancelled due to the April superstorm.
“We were greatly disappointed with the cancellation of the 2015 event, due to road access safety issues,” Tocal Field Days manager Wendy Franklin said.
“Happily the culvert repairs are well underway won’t be an issue for 2016.
“We are thrilled by the level of support we have seen from our exhibitors and the general public, so much so that site bookings for this year’s event are up 24 per cent to date.
“This will necessitate expansion of some spaces, and that’s a great indicator of the event’s popularity.”
Exhibitors will bring a vast array of products and services from the latest in innovative farming techniques and technology, solar energy and fencing construction through to craft and amazing food and wine products.
The 2016 theme ‘Horses and Courses’, will see a large variety of events associated with both of these aspects.
The renowned piglet races are sure to keep its popularity soaring; the animal nursery will be back as well as the working dogs, horses and the infamous Penny Tocow, the purple cow.
If shopping is not high on the list there are plenty of talks and demonstrations plus live country music.
“It’s no longer an event just for farmers, its popularity has surged with families and the wider community,” Ms Franklin said.
“Some patrons want to learn, see demonstrations, even shop and some just want a good day’s entertainment.”
