How Cessnock City residents are faring, one year since the April super storm

April 21 marks the one-year anniversary of the superstorm that devastated the Hunter Region.

The Advertiser has caught up with some local residents who were affected by the flood to see how they have fared in the year since.

In Weston, a young mother says she will not move back into her flood-damaged home until something is done to fix the flooding in Swamp Creek.

An Abermain family is still renovating 12 months after the storm, and is preparing for it to flood again.
