
Drugs located in vehicle, driver unlicensed
Last Monday night police stopped a vehicle Victoria Street, Cessnock for an alleged traffic offence.
The 32-year-old driver was found not to hold a driver’s licence.
A search of the vehicle allegedly also located a small quantity of the prohibited drug MDMA (ecstasy). The man will now be attending Cessnock Court.
Shoplifting
On Saturday a Loss Prevention Officer at a Cessnock supermarket allegedly saw a 31-year-old man place a tray of chicken fillets down the front of his trousers before leaving the store without paying for them.
The man was stopped after passing through the checkouts and detained until police arrived. The man will now be attending Cessnock Court and has been banned from the supermarket.
Damage to Mount View High
On Thursday night offenders damaged a number of windows at Mount View High School by throwing rocks through them.

No person is allowed to be on school grounds after hours, so if you see anyone there please contact the police.
Drink driving
Late on Saturday night police stopped a 40-year-old motorist for RBT on Cumberland Street, Cessnock.
The man was tested and found to have the low-range prescribed level of alcohol in his blood. He will now be attending Cessnock Court.
Break-in at Kurri Girl Guides Hall
Between Friday, June 3 and Tuesday, June 7 an unknown offender broke into the Girl Guides Hall in Lang Street, Kurri. The offender stole two wall heaters and a karaoke machine.
