Cessnock woman Suzie Price has been recognised by her peers as Australia’s best psychic for 2016.
Also known as “Ghost Whisperer Suzie”, Ms Price received the award at the International Psychic Association’s Australian awards on September 3.
Ms Price said she was “very humbled and honoured” to win the prestigious award.
She has been connected to the spirit world since she was seven years old, when she had a nearly died after being hit by a car.
“I was taken to counsellors and psychologists who said I had an overactive imagination, and that I would grow out of it,” she said.
“Clearly I never did!”
Ms Price said she tries to turn her abilities “on and off like a switch” so she can go about her everyday life, but sometimes spirits will surprise her.
“I’m still amazed, practically most days,” she said.
Ms Price has appeared on Australian Psychic TV, Studio 10 and Today Extra; has held shows to audiences of 400 people, and is booked out more than a year in advance for private readings.
