A greyhound worker has been charged with possession of an unauthorised firearm after a search near Cessnock.
A 69-year-old Abermain man was charged with possession and unauthorised use of a firearm. The charge follows police inquires into the deaths of numerous greyhounds at Keinbah.
The man is due to appear at Cessnock Local Court on October 26.
Police will allege the possession of a .22 calibre rifle between 2010 and 2013 in the state’s Central Hunter.
Investigations suggests the firearm has since been destroyed.
