Cessnock Uniting Church Art Group’s annual exhibition is on display at Cessnock Library until October 26.
This year’s exhibition features the group’s own spin on the Archibald Prize, which they’ve called the ‘Arty-Bald Prize’.
The group invites anyone who views the exhibition to fill out a feedback form at the library, to go into the draw for the chance to win a free painting (from the works displayed in the low glass cabinet).
The draw will take place at by 10am on October 24, and if you’re not lucky enough to be drawn out, but would like to pick up a piece of art, most of the works are on sale at very reasonable prices.
The long-running art group meets at the Uniting Church hall in Cooper Street on Thursday mornings from 9am to 12.30pm.
“We are a friendly group with a mutual interest in art,” group member Margaret Warner said.
Anyone interested in joining the group is welcome to come along any Thursday (except school holidays) to wander around and chat to the artists.
