Kearsley couple Noel and Iris Carson have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.
Mr and Mrs Carson were married on September 15, 1956 at the Methodist Church in Cumberland Street, Cessnock.
It was an unusually warm day for September, they recall.
The couple has lived in Kearsley their whole married life. Their marriage produced four children, and they now have five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and another one on the way.
Both turned 80 in June and are still very active – Mrs Carson still mows her lawn, while Mr Carson does most of the cooking.
The couple has many animals including 30 chooks, whose eggs are popular with the local community.
