Mulbring’s Leticia Maguire is part of the Art for Epilepsy online auction that is open for bidding until Sunday, March 26 (International Epilepsy Awareness Day).
Ms Maguire heard about the project through a friend, and her close experiences with the condition inspired her to get involved.
One of Ms Maguire’s friends died after suffering an epileptic fit while she was in high school.
She also has friends with epilepsy and one of her friend’s young children suffers the condition.
“It’s something that's close to me,” she said.
Ms Maguire’s piece The Lake has already reached $300, which she was very pleased with.
“I’m just happy to be able to contribute,” she said.
“It’s nice to be able to use art in a way that can help other people. Anything we can raise is great.”
