The second Cessnock Sings will go ahead this Friday night at Cessnock Performing Arts Centre.
Organiser Emmie Hallett said she had planned to postpone the event on Wedneday afternoon after many participants said they were too sick to attend.
But that night she was inundated with support from people wanting it to go ahead.
“So we will have Cessnock Sings on Friday and we will make it amazing for whoever turns up!” Ms Hallett said.
The fun starts at 6pm. Register at cessnocksings.eventbrite.com.au.
EARLIER REPORT
Wild Learning will host its second Cessnock Sings event at Cessnock Performing Arts Centre this Friday night.
Organiser Emmie Hallett said the inaugural singalong on March 17 was so much fun, they had to do it all again.
“Cessnock Sings is a super-fun community building event where we fill the foyer of the Cessnock Performing Arts Center will people – then teach everyone to sing in a massive, noisy pop-up choir and film the event,” Ms Hallett said.
“Everyone is welcome to get involved – no experience or singing skills are required.
“This is about participation and being part of your local community to make something cool happen.”
More than 80 people of all ages attended the first Cessnock Sings, where the tune of the night was The Foundations’ Build Me Up Buttercup.
This Friday night’s crowd will learn and perform Geronimo by Sheppard.
Ms Hallett said there is no fixed ticket price on this event; they simply ask people to contribute what they can to help cover the cost of running these events.
To be part of the fun, just sign up online at cessnocksings.eventbrite.com.au and turn up at the CPAC at 6pm Friday.
