Police still looking for owner of cash found at Paxton in December 2016

Police are hoping to find the owner of an amount of cash found out the front of Paxton General Store and Post Office six months ago.

Senior Constable Kel Boak from Central Hunter Police said a good Samaritan located the money lying on the roadway outside the store around 1.45pm on December 21 and dutifully handed the cash in to Cessnock Police Station.

Senior Constable Boak said police believe the owner may be local to the township of Paxton. 

Anyone with information about the possible owner is urged to contact Maitland Police Exhibits Office on 4934 0200. Report E63422338 relates.
