Ms Palfreyman is one of nine women in the running for the Accountant of the Year title at the national awards.
Ms Palfreyman has worked in the accounting industry for nearly 30 years, as a chartered accountant in large national firms, as a lecturer at the University of Newcastle and in her own practice (Palfreyman Chartered Accountant).
She has been acknowledged in her profession by being awarded a Fellowship status by Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand.
Ms Palfreyman said she is extremely proud to be in the running for the award.
“I would like to thank our clients and the team at Palfreyman Chartered Accountant for helping to make this possible,” she said.
The winners will be announced on September 21.
