Members of the public are welcome to attend, especially men from Kurri Kurri and surrounding districts who may be interested in Freemasonry and the work it does in the community.
The topic for the evening will be gem-fossicking and lapidary. The guest speaker is lodge member Terry Stothard, who is also the president of Cessnock Gem and Mineral Club.
Mr Stothard will present a talk, and will have a display of stones in the rough as well as samples of jewellery created by lodge members.
The evening will also be an opportunity for men who are interested in freemasonry to explore the lodge room at Weston, and to meet members of the lodge and their partners.
A short talk on Freemasonry will be presented following the evening’s main address.
A buffet supper will follow the presentation.
The open night will be held at the Weston Masonic Centre (47 Second Street, Weston), with doors open at 7pm for a 7.30pm start.
