The festive season is ramping up around Cessnock City this week, with carols nights and Christmas events galore.

Millfield’s community Christmas carols will be held at St Luke’s Anglican Church on Friday at 6.30pm, with sausage sandwiches for a gold coin donation.
Also on Friday, Huntlee will hold an outdoor cinema in the park next to the land sales centre, with carols, a visit from Santa and screening of the Christmas classic The Grinch.
Kurri Kurri is in for a treat on Sunday night, with carols at Kurri Kurri Public School from 6pm.
There will be performances by Annie Devine, Michael King, the Delma Whyte Singers and local schools; an amazing ‘Santa Cave’ where kids can have professional photos taken for a gold coin donation to Kurri Rotary Club, and a fireworks display.
Abermain Public School’s popular carols night will be held on Monday, December 11.
Gates open at 5.30pm for a 6.30pm start and entry is by gold coin donation. There will be a host of local performers, food and drink available, a visit from Santa and fireworks to wrap up the night at 9pm.
The festive fun continues next week, with Cessnock Baptist Church will hold a carols service on Sunday, December 17 at 6pm, and a Christmas craft and gingerbread decorating night on Wednesday, December 20.
