The choir received $4230 from the Deparment of Social Services Volunteer Grants program to buy the state-of-the-art Roland digital keyboard and associated sound equipment.
Pianist Michael Griggs said the new keyboard has enhanced the choir's capability and performance levels for its Christmas shows at local nursing homes over the past seven weeks.
Mr Griggs said audiences of 30-40 on each occasion attended these shows, and the performances were eagerly awaited.
The local community can catch the choir’s next pop-up performance at Cessnock Library on Thursday, December 21 at 10am.
All are welcome to come along and enjoy the music – or even try out the keyboard – in the library foyer.
The choir has already started planning for its Seniors Week 2018 activities, which will include an outdoor show at Marthaville Arts and Cultural Centre.
