St Paul’s Church, Kurri Kurri is staging a small display of nativity scenes from the collections of several parishioners.
The scenes range from a tiny Faberge-style egg, through traditional crafts from South America, to Italianate porcelain and carved wood in many shapes and sizes.
The display is free, and is available for viewing Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday from 9am to 10am; Wednesday 9am to noon and Thursday 3pm to 5.30pm, until Christmas Eve.
Meanwhile, the first-ever Carols on the Grass will be held at Christ Church Mount Vincent on Saturday, December 16.
The event will start with a barbecue at 5pm, with entertainment commencing at 6.30pm.
All are welcome, and those attending are encouraged bring a chair, cushion or blanket for comfort.
“We are looking forward to bringing this celebration to the Mulbring and Mt Vincent district and hope that locals will share with us,” church warden at Christ Church, Peta Jackson said.
The parish’s Christmas services will be held at St Paul’s Kurri Kurri on Christmas Eve at 5pm and 11pm; St Mary’s Weston at 8.30am on Christmas Day, and Christ Church Mount Vincent at 10am on Christmas Day.
