Goalball is a Paralympic sport that is designed for blind athletes. Played in complete silence, players are blindfolded and roll a ball containing several bells around the court and into the goals.
It was O’Neil’s second time competing at the Pacific School Games – he was part of the NSW goalball team that won bronze two years ago.
Nulkaba diver Aubrey Barr also competed at the 2017 games, placing fourth in the three-metre springboard, fifth in the one-metre and sixth in the synchronised event.
About 4000 athletes from 15 countries competed across 11 sports.
