Things have come a long way since Shayne first began teaching as a schoolgirl out of her parent’s back shed and holding her very first concert in the Abermain Plaza Hall. Shayne’s Tap ‘n’ Groove is looking for people to be great in 2018 and welcomes all ages and abilities to her dance school.
This year brings some staff changes which is very exciting. Lessons will continue to be held in the air-conditioned Kurri Kurri Community Centre.
Shayne is very aware that students often want to try as many new things as possible, however, the budget isn’t always as accommodating so she will continue to join up some of the more popular classes to enable students to do as much as possible with minimum financial outlay during 2018.
Fun, fun, and more fun underpins all elements of the studio, which is why so many people are hooked. Shayne is thrilled to welcome back her returning students and looking forward to meeting the new faces to her friendly classes.

Her Boyz Hip Hop class always attracts lots of attention and the Move’n’Groove class for 2 to 4 yr olds is getting an overhaul with lots of fun to be had.
The Tiny Tots Combo class is always popular and is designed to give little ones a taste of tap, jazz and ballet without them having to be in lengthy and costly classes.
They engage in ballet skills, tap skills and jazz skills in a class especially designed to keep moving and keep their interest.
Shayne’s passion is helping children reach their full potential and feel good about themselves, which is why she has enjoyed teaching dancing for the past 31 years and why she loves her job as a teacher at St. Patrick’s School, Cessnock.
Shayne specialises in using exercises that enable the left and right sides of the brain to make more connections.
This unleashes a greater potential for learning. So not only does your child reach their full potential on the stage but they will also thrive in their day-to-day life and at school as well.
