The festival is in its 15th year and is shaping up to be another great event, with thousands of people expected to flock to Kurri Kurri from March 23 to 25 for three days of rock ‘n’ roll, classic cars, retro fashion and ‘50s-themed fun.
PROGRAM
FRIDAY, MARCH 23
- Retro High Tea at Kurri Kurri High School, 1pm-3pm. Tickets $30.
- Family Fun Night in Rotary Park, 5pm-8pm. Entertainment by Jumpin’ Jukebox. Free entry.
- Rock ‘n’ Roll Express at Richmond Vale Railway Museum, 6.45pm-10pm. Entertainment by Gary Davidson. Tickets $28.
- Burlesque Idol grand final at Weston Workers Club, 7.30pm-10.30pm. Tickets $20.
- The Rattlesnakes at Kurri Kurri Bowling Club, 7.30pm-11pm. Free entry.
SATURDAY, MARCH 24
Rotary Park
- 8.30am: DJ Gav with lots of 50s and 60s music
- 9am: Eureka Tae Kwon Do demonstration
- 9.45am: Official Opening
- 10am: Dance demonstration – Newcastle 50s Rock N Roll
- 10.45am: Best dressed parade – couples and junior categories
- 11.30am: Sass & the Boss
- 12.30pm: Tony Hunt (Roy Orbison tribute)
- 1pm: Sass & the Boss
- 2pm: Shannon’s Show and Shine trophy presentation
- 2.15pm: Tony Hunt (Roy Orbison tribute)
- 2.45pm: Best dressed parade – Miss Modern Day and traditional categories
- 3.30pm: Sydney Swing Katz
- 4pm: DJ Gav
Evening events
- Rock ‘n’ Roll Express at Richmond Vale Railway Museum, 6.45pm-10pm. Entertainment by John Jay. Tickets $28.
- Rock ‘n’ Roll Party featuring the Jivebombers and the Sydney Swing Katz at Weston Workers Club, 7pm-11pm. Tickets $20.
- High School Prom dinner dance at Hunter Valley Hotel Academy (Kurri TAFE), 7pm-11pm. Entertainment by Mr James Band and DJ Vinnie. Enjoy a delicious 1960s themed dinner in a High School Prom atmosphere. Tickets $70.
- The Lamplighters supported by Emile at Kurri Kurri Bowling Club, 7.30pm-11pm. Tickets $15.
SUNDAY, MARCH 25
Rotary Park main stage
- 8.30am: DJ Gav with lots of 50s and 60s music
- 8.45am: Rock Service
- 9.30am: Tony Hunt (Roy Orbison tribute)
- 10am: Dance demonstration – All Shook Up Dance Studio
- 10.45am: Best dressed parade – couples and junior categories

- 12.30pm: Tony Hunt (Roy Orbison tribute)
- 1pm: Mr James Band
- 2pm: Shannon’s Show and Shine trophy presentation
- 2.30pm: Raffle prize draw
- 2.45pm: Best dressed parade – Miss Modern Day and traditional categories

Kurri Kurri Bowling Club Street Stage
- Live entertainment by On the Prowl and DJ Vinnie, 10am-2pm. Located at the top end of Lang Street.
All Shook Up Dance Studio Sidewalk Stage
- Live entertainment by Nightmoves, 9.30am-1.30pm. Located at the library end of Lang Street.
Evening events
- Last Chance Dance at Weston Workers Club, 5pm-9pm, featuring the All Stars Trilogy Tribute Show. Tickets $20.
