It was organised by the school’s P&C as a fundraising event, and all students were encouraged to take part and seek sponsorship.
Parents and staff were also invited to take part in the run, for an entry free of $10.
Funds were also raised through a sausage sizzle and sno cones and cupcake stalls.
The colour run kicked off with an obstacle course made of tyres (donated by Emmafield Tipping), which will be repurposed and used for play equipment at the school.
It was the school’s most successful P&C-facilitated event to date, in terms of participation and attendance.
“We have never been so busy at any event held previously – it was fantastic to have this kind of involvement and to give the children a fun fitness program,” P&C promotions coordinator Jasmine McEwan said.
The colour run was also a great success in regards to funds raised.
While the final donations are still to come in, the organisers estimate the event will raise approximately $6000.
The P&C executive thanked all the volunteers and local businesses who supported the event, and organisers Jasmine McEwan, Kelly Russ and newly-elected P&C president Leza Doyle for coordinating the day.
The school’s first-ever Carols by Twilight in December is among the other exciting events the P&C has planned for this year.
