The Reds came up against a very well drilled, fit and disciplined Waratahs team, who have dropped from Premier Division and boast more that 500 first grade caps.
The Waratahs were the first to score with a converted try after five minutes of good defense by the Reds but the Tahs managed to slip around the wing and score.
The rest of the half was much the same with Pokolbin doing all the defending and having little of the ball. The half-time score was 0-26
After a good half-time chat, the Reds set their defensive lines and proceeded to attack the Waratah half.
In a great effort they were on the front front foot for the better part of the half but were unable to cross the line.
Three minutes before the end of the second half the Waratahs turned over the ball on their 22 line and with a deep kick into the Reds’ 22 and couple of phases later they managed to score a converted try for a 33-0 victory.
Despite the score at the end it was a great team effort by the Reds, who never gave up and pulled together in the second half to show what they are made of.
Players Points were, Daniel Burns 3 points, Shane Doyle 2 points and 1 point for the rest of the team.
The Reds play East 1 next Saturday at Dangar Park at 3pm.
