More thunderstorms have been predicted for Saturday around Newcastle, after an upper level trough over eastern parts of NSW helped storms to build over the city and surrounding region overnight.

Mostly sunny conditions with maximums of 25 degrees were expected for Newcastle on Friday, with a steady 50 percent chance of rain over the weekend.
South-south west winds at around 19 kilometres per hour on Saturday morning have been predicted to change south-south-east in the afternoon, picking up to around 23 kilometres per hour.
Showers are forecast throughout the rest of the week, with temperatures between 18 and 24 degrees, before rising to maximums of around 25 degrees towards Thursday.
Conditions could be wet for Anzac Day in Newcastle, with between 5 and 10 millimetres of rain forecast, and 20 to 40 millimetres on Thursday, April 26.
