The gift gallery has operated out of the VIC for several years, and any surplus from the operation is put back into the community-run facility.
“We realise that for some local residents, shopping for gifts has become more difficult with the closure of local stores,” said Sharon Dyson-Smith, secretary of Towns With Heart, whose volunteers manage the gallery.
“Our gift gallery has a wide range of gifts, many of them locally-crafted, at reasonable prices.”
Scarves, jewellery, hats, soaps and creams are among the items in store, along with locally-crafted handmade greeting cards for all occasions.
The VIC is located at 199 Lang Street, Kurri Kurri.
Market day at Girl Guide Hall
There are sure to be plenty of great Mother’s Day gift ideas at the Cessnock Girl Guides market day on Saturday.
The markets will be held at the Guide Hall in Ferguson Street from 8am to 1pm, and will raise money for the Guides to attend the International Jamboree in Sydney this year.
