Cessnock Croquet Club will hold a free open day on Saturday, May 19.
The club is located at the former Allandale Bowling Club, in the grounds of Calvary Cessnock Retirement Community off Wine Country Drive, Nulkaba.
The club has 35 members and plays Tuesday afternoons and Friday mornings, and is hoping to start weekend games soon.
Club president George Campbell said the purpose of the open day is to showcase the club’s existence and teach people about the croquet – a tactical, low-impact sport that is suitable for people of all ages and fitness levels.
“We are a friendly club, and anyone’s welcome,” Mr Campbell said.
The open day will run from 9.30am to 3pm, with a sausage sizzle by Cessnock Lions Club and cold drinks for sale. Drop in at any time throughout the day.
