The workshop will be hosted by professional genealogists Laurie and Lorraine Turtle at the library on Saturday, May 19.
Participants will learn about the importance of occupations, where to find out what their ancestors did, what that occupation means and how to access employment records.
Cessnock mayor Bob Pynsent said this workshop is a must for anyone who is interested in their family history.
“This is a new and highly practical talk for ancestry researchers from the beginner to the experienced,” he said.
The workshop will run from 9.30am to 12.30pm and morning tea will be provided. Call the library on 4993 4399 for bookings.
