The under-13s have won promotion to division two with an outstanding tournament taking the title with 15 wins, one draw and just one loss from their 17 games.
They finished on top of the table, equal on points with Tumut, but had a better for and against.
The under-14s were runners up with 16 wins and two losses, just two points behind Temora.
The under-12s in their first tournament finished in seventh place with a tremendous effort winning 10 of their 16 games.
The under-15s, who were competing in division four, also finished seventh with 14 wins and a draw from their 20 games. The girls claimed Coalfields bragging rights with a 17-11 win against Kurri Kurri in their match-up.
“To all of our teams you have done Cessnock proud in every single way, with your results, your sportsmanship, your behaviour and most of all the way you wore your black and gold with pride every single day,” Cessnock netball’s Erin Fairlie said.
“To our officials, coaches, assistant coaches, managers, primary carers, umpires and our amazing catering officers who fed us all weekend, no thank you will ever be enough for everything you have done and none of this would have been possible without you all.”
Kurri Kurri’s teams also had tremendous tournaments with a top 10 finish in division four by their under-13 team and under-12s and under-15s also very competitive.
At their first state titles the under-12s finished in 11th with a very credible seven wins from their 17 games.
The under-15s finished 15th but managed six wins and a draw from a gruelling 20 game schedule over the three days.
Cessnock’s success is all the more remarkable as the under-12 to under-14 teams were competing in division three for the first time after winning promotion last year.
“We have gone from not sending a single representative team to the state age championships four years ago. This year we also sent an open age team to the state titles,” Fairlie said.
Maitland teams also had a successful titles with their under-12s sixth, under-13s ninth, under-14s fourth and under-15s seventh.
