Cessnock Library hosted a Lego competition on Thursday, with some marvellous creations on show.
Kurri Kurri Library will host a Lego competition on Friday, and the jam-packed program continues at the libraries in the second week of the holidays.
Monday, July 16 will be a busy day at Cessnock Library, with Rhymetime at 10am, Kids Can Knit at 1pm and Makerspace Cardboard Automata at 3pm.
Cessnock Library will hold story time at 10am on Tuesday, July 17, while a Hogwarts Escape Room will be held at Kurri Kurri Library at 4pm that day.
Rhymetime and Storytime will be held Kurri Kurri Library at 10am Wednesday, July 18, followed by Kids Can Knit at 1pm and Makerspace Cardboard Automata at 3pm.
The fun continues on Thursday, July 19 with JD Howlett’s magic and juggling workshop at Kurri Kurri at 10am and Cessnock at 2pm (cost: $7); and the Hogwarts Escape Room at Cessnock at 4pm.

Meet Duggee
Cessnock Plaza is holding meet-and-greets with Duggee the dog from children’s television series Hey Duggee until Friday, July 13, with sessions at 11am, 12pm and 1pm each day.
Art workshops
Cessnock Regional Art Gallery will host a woodblock printing workshop on Friday, July 20. All kids aged over seven are welcome. They can print on bags, or their own T-shirt. Cost: $10. Time: 10am-11.30am. Call 4991 6619 or email info@crag.net.au for bookings or more information.
The Wollombi School Community Education Trust will hold two art workshops at the former Wollombi School with Kes Harper on Wednesday, July 18 – Design a T-shirt from 10am to 12pm (bring your own white T-shirt) and Recycled Art from 1pm-3pm (bring some small bits and pieces, eg Lego, broken toys bits, etc). Snow Time in the Garden
Hunter Valley Gardens’ popular winter holiday attraction, Snow Time in the Garden, runs daily until July 22.
Camel rides
Camel Milk NSW will host camel rides at De Bortoli Wines, Pokolbin on Thursdays and Saturdays during the school holidays.
School playgrounds open
Cessnock East, Cessnock West, Congewai, Ellalong, Greta and Kitchener public schools will be open from 8am to 5pm every day during the holidays as part of the NSW Government’s Share our Space program. Read more here.
