When it comes to quality medical care from dedicated professionals, My Medical Services Kurri Kurri have long been the port of call for many locals. From medical and dental care through to pathology and radiology, the team at My Medical Services Kurri Kurri have been assisting patients since 2009.
Cosmetic Assistant and Medical Receptionist, Crystal Holland said that while the practice had been offering a wide range of services in the past, they were excited to be adding cosmetic treatments to the list of their services.
“We are proud to be a ‘one stop’ shop for Kurri Kurri and the surrounding region. We aim to provide all the services that people need locally instead of having to go to Newcastle or Sydney. The addition of cosmetic treatments was another item that we felt we could provide for local people,” she said.
While Kurri Kurri’s population has traditionally been older, the lure of mining jobs along with affordable housing has seen younger people and families move to the area, changing the regions demographics and services they now seek.
Dr Kehinde Olatunbosun has been practicing for ten years and has owned the practice for the last five. He will be in charge of the new cosmetic treatments with a variety of options available.
New services include cosmeceuticals which are products, such as creams and cleansers, that have both cosmetic and therapeutic effects, benefiting skin health.
They will also offer micro-needling and micro-dermabrasion. Micro-dermabrasion uses fine crystals to ‘polish’ the skin, by removing superficial layers of dead skin cells. Essentially painless, it’s safe for most skin types and aims to improve skin texture and radiance.
Skin analysing is another service that patients will be able to benefit from, which is a simple technique that utilises taking images under different lights, allowing specialists to detect skin types, any skin issues and develop individual treatments.
Crystal said that it is these new styles of treatments that people are becoming more interested in as new research and techniques continue to make inroads in the cosmetic industry.
The practice will offer traditional style treatments including injections such as lip fillers, while Crystal said that platelet rich plasma injections (PRP) will also be available, and are great as they have two uses, cosmetic and medical, including relieving joint and injury pain, along with osteoarthritis.
My Medical Services Kurri Kurri will be holding an open day on July, 25 to coincide with the launch of their new treatments. The day will offer people a free skin analysis services and demo treatments with a free BBQ and fun packs for the kids.
