Exquisite Cakes by Lennert will host a tea tasting party for the Relay on Monday, August 6 from 6pm to 8pm.
Guests can enjoy some light refreshments while exploring the range of teas on offer at the Vincent Street business.
Entry is $15 per person, payable on the night. An additional 10 percent of all boxed tea ordered on the evening will also be donated to the relay. RSVP to the Facebook event page ‘Tea Tasting Party’ before the night.
Meanwhile, Team Didi and Bec’s Dragonflies are teaming up to hold a bingo night at Cessnock Leagues Club on Saturday, August 4.
Doors will open at 5pm for a 7pm start, and books can be bought online at huntertickets.com ($20 per book for 10 games) at the door on the night.
The Relay committee will hold a second-hand clothing sale – also at the Leagues Club – on Sunday, August 19 from 11am to 3pm.
Stalls are $15 each, or clothes can be donated to the committee to sell. Text Steph on 0400 184 157 to book a stall or make a donation.
The Relay itself will be held at Baddeley Park on Saturday, October 20 from 10am to 10pm.
Teams are encouraged to walk laps of the field to celebrate cancer survival, remember loved ones lost, and fight for a cure.
Funds raised through Relay For Life go to the Cancer Council’s support, research, advocacy and education programs.
