Anthony Burke and Clint Ekert will be driving a 12-seater bus, thanks to Mr Wilson’s Hire Car and Chauffeur Services, on Friday and Saturday night (August 10 and 11) – with 100 percent of fares to go to Cancer Council NSW.
Mr Burke founded Dine 4 Charity in 2013, and the annual dinner and its associated events have now raised more than $86,000 for local organisations supporting people with cancer.
The charity cab won’t just raise money, but also awareness for Cancer Council and its services.
“We’ll be talking to people about how they’ve been touched by cancer,” Mr Burke said.
The cab will be available from 6pm to 1am Friday and Saturday night – whether you need a ride to dinner or the pub, a pizza picked up or you just want to go for a spin for charity. It will be livestreamed via Facebook, with plenty of fun guaranteed.
Trips are limited to the Cessnock local government area, for up to 10 passengers at a time.
Book your timeslot at huntertickets.com, or check out the Facebook event page ‘Cessnock Charity Cab’ for more information.
This year’s Dine 4 Charity is being billed as “a night of laughs”, featuring some of Australia’s best-known comedians. It will be held at Cessnock Leagues Club on Saturday, November 17, with raffles, auctions and a three-course dinner. Tickets will go on sale soon.
