The Cessnock LGA ClubGrants committee recently presented a formidable $111,453 in funding to 20 local charities and community groups that deliver vital services in the region.

The cheque was presented an an inaugural ClubGrants committee morning tea at Cessnock Leagues Club in late August and committee spokesperson Paul Cousins said it was heartening to see the level of support local clubs give to their communities.
“Local Clubs have been supporting their communities since their inception,” Mr Cousins said.
“It’s rewarding to know that Clubs continue to provide real support to local organisations who are making a significant difference in our respective communities.”
Local Clubs involved in the Cessnock ClubGRANTS program include; Cessnock Leagues Club, East Cessnock Bowling Club, Greta Workers Sports & Recreation Club, Kurri Kurri Bowling Club and Weston Workers Club.
Hunter Life Education were one of the successful recipients of the grants program this year, being awarded $13,780 in funding to provide free Life Education classes to 10 of the most disadvantaged schools in the region, enabling local kids to make safer and healthier life choices.
