Known for terrorising Little Red Riding Hood, this razor toothed miscreant has long been one of the most maligned characters in literary history.
But did you ever stop to think that he was just misunderstood?
Well a new, table turning retelling of the story of the Big Bad Wolf is coming to Cessnock Performing Arts Centre next month that will have you asking that very question.
Put simply, the Big Bad Wolf has no friends – but he does have incredibly sharp teeth, yellow eyes and his own questionable ideas about personal hygiene.
Thankfully, though, one little girl, Heidi Hood, is brave enough to look into the wolf’s years of bad press and surprisingly, an unlikely friendship is born.
This hilarious tale, produced by the Windmill Theatre Company is sure to have the young and the young at heart howling in the aisles and have you wondering why you were so scared of this guy in the first place.
Premiering in 2013, Big Bad Wolf is one of Windmill Theatre Company’s most popular shows, delighting children all over Australia with seasons in Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth.
In 2016 the company took the show overseas, touring to packed houses for three months throughout the US and Canada.
Now Big Bad Wolf is coming to Cessnock for a special one-off performance at Cessnock Performing Arts Centre on Friday 12 October.
Tickets are onsale at the CPAC Box Office, by phone on 4993 4266 or online at http://www.cessnockperformingartscentre.com.au
