Huntlee ELC (Early Learning Centre) is the first business to open in the Huntlee town centre and is a state-of-the-art facility that caters to children from six weeks to five years.
Centre Director Kate Harkness said that there had already been considerable interest from parents across the Hunter Region.
“We have had a huge number of people register interest and enrolments are already strong. We expect that after the Christmas break, we will have a really solid number of children under our care.”
The centre features a commercial kitchen and chef onsite, two toddler rooms, three nursery rooms, two junior rooms and a school readiness room and a stunning outdoor play area.
“We try to make it as easy as possible for parents to get out in the morning so we provide all meals, linen, sunscreen nappies, sunscreen and wipes,” Ms Harkness said.
“All we ask is the families bring comforters and changes of clothes.”
Huntlee project director Stephen Thompson said the opening of Huntlee ELC was a significant milestone.
“A lot of young families are calling Huntlee their new home town and they’re very pleased to have a facility of this calibre in such close proximity,” Mr Thompson said.
The Huntlee ELC opens Monday to Friday from 6.30am to 6pm.
