The reunion is for people who worked at the mine prior to its closure in May 1998.
There have been two reunions held so far – one in 2012 and another in 2014 and organiser Brian Fogg said they were both great successes.
“The last two were really good – we had over 100 people at both, and people came down from Newcastle for it, so we’re hoping for another great reunion this year,” he said.
Mr Fogg, who worked at the colliery from 1976 to 1998 said that the reunion was a great opportunity to catch up with some old mates.
“Some of the blokes I don;t see for 12 months to two years at a time so it’s always good to catch up,” he said.
“During my time there, I met some fantastic characters, we had a really great time.
“There was a lot of hard work but there was also a fair bit of clowning around and I think that there will be some of that at the reunion.”
Surface operations commenced at the Pelton Colliery in April 1916, and the mine became a key employer of the South Maitland Coalfields.
The reunion will be on from 1pm on Saturday 10 November. No RSVP is necessary, just turn up on the day.
Mr Fogg added that the club would also make available its courtesy bus to transport people to and from the reunion. For more information, phone the club on 4990 2147.
