The school was presented with $1000 last week as part of the Cessnock-based real estate agency’s 2018 sales promotion.
Throughout 2018, the agency has been giving away $1000 to a different school or sporting team.
Vendors in each successful sale had the opportunity to go into the draw to nominate a school or team to receive a donation, with one winner announced on the last day of the school term.
The latest winner was vendor Craig Grills and he decided to donate the cash to Cesnock West.
Relieving principal at Cessnock West, Donna Madden, said that she was over the moon with the donation which would go toward a community celebration the school was planning in December.
“This donation will go towards our end of year Twilight Picnic we are organising for our community on December 13 from 4.30 to 6.30pm,” Ms Madden said.
“We will now be able to provide more opportunities for the children at the picnic including free drinks, a sausage sizzle, snow cones and face painting.
“This donation will also go towards the hire of a DJ for the disco for the children. We are feeling very lucky!”
Cessnock Public School’s breakfast club was the recipient of the $1000 donation in term one, while Branxton’s Rosary Park Catholic School was awarded the funds, which were put toward works in the school’s garden and play areas, in term two.
