Price finished fourth in stage six and sits third overall 5 minutes; 17 seconds behind Chilean Pablo Quintanilla from the Rockstar Energy Husqvarna team who won the stage and jumped two places in the process.

“It’s been a really tough day today. My wrist is hurting more and more as the race goes on and it’s making things uncomfortable out there,” said Price, who is carrying a broken bone in his wrist into the event.

“I’ll keep cruising on though and I’m still in the race, it’s just a bit more like survival mode at the moment.

“Nevertheless, third overall with four stages left to race is encouraging.

“The goal is the same – make it safely to the finish – so I’ll keep on pushing on tomorrow.”

The rally resumed after Saturday’s rest day and covered 838km, with a 336km timed section, overnight Sunday.

American Ricky Brabec, from the Monster Energy Honda Team, is second overall 4 min; 38 sec behind Quintanilla. 

Price’s Red Bull KTM teammate Englishman Sam Sunderland had a disastrous leg and dropped from third to seventh 21 minutes off the pace.

Argentinean Kevin Benavides is fourth, two minutes and 44 seconds behind Price. 

Stage seven is 387km long, including a 323km timed section.
